Mum used to want me to read all the time. She's a teacher so it doesn't look too good that her son isn't really all that interested in school things. I didn't mind reading the books we had to in school but the one that I'm happy to read without being forced to is 1984. It's disturbing and something I could see happening in real life. I guess what really got to me is how this guy wrote this book so long ago and some of the stuff he talks about sort of happened. I'd tell someone to read it so they can see what I'm talking about.
I'd also recommend this book Will made me read. He didn't make me. He said I'd probably like it because it's funny and I said sure I'd give it a try. It's called A Confederacy of Dunces. I'm not finished with it yet but I like it so far. It's about this odd man who doesn't really fit in but doesn't seem to care that the world sees him as something different. Guess I can identify with being a freak. I'd tell someone to read it because it's entertaining. And it makes it easier to remember that what's normal depends on who you're talking to.
